Youth Peace Convention on Artificial Intelligence for Building Sustainable Peace was held on 30 th January at Auxilium Home open Auditorium, Katpadi. Nearly 350 youth from Schools and Colleges participated in the whole day programme. The Convention commenced with an inclusive inter-religious prayer, animated by Auxilium Higher Secondary School, Dharmapuri. Lighting of the kuthu villakku, a symbol of unity in diversity, set a harmonious tone for a day dedicated to peace and harmony. The universal quest for peace was further highlighted by the releasing of doves by Mother Provincial Rev. SR. DEVADOSS MARGARET, FMA, Rev. Fr. AROCKIA SELVAKUMAR SDB, Managing Director of DON BOSCO ALAIHAL MEDIA, Trichy and student representative Ms. NITHYA. The MIC Higher Secondary School, Tirupattur enthralled the audience with a welcome dance.
The welcome address was delivered by St. Joseph Higher Secondary School, Arni expressing gratitude and
setting the context for the convention. Mother Provincial Sr. Devadoss Margaret delivered an inspiring
presidential address, emphasizing the importance of youth in building sustainable peace. Fr. Selvakumar then provided valuable insights in the inaugural address, delving into the intersection of AI and peace, highlighting benefits and the challenges of Artificial intelligence. A panel discussion unfolded, exploring the profound influence of Artificial Intelligence in fostering sustainable peace. Diverse perspectives and knowledgeable opinions by the seven student panelists from different Schools and Colleges enriched the discussion. Mr. Infant Jeremy shared valuable insights on the practical applications of AI in the daily lives of students, highlighting its role in education and personal development. Twelve students gave moving personal experiences, outlining five unique SPM-facilitated pathways of personal transformation. The narratives provided a human touch, showcasing the positive impact on individuals. The afternoon session showcased the convergence of art and technology with a lively dance competition where contestants imaginatively portrayed themes of peace and artificial intelligence. The convention concluded with a solemn closing ceremony. Outstanding performances and contributions were recognized through a prize distribution ceremony. Mother Provincial distributed the prizes. Fr. Selvakumar delivered a concluding address summarizing key takeaways and encouraging continued efforts for peace. Sr. Sebastian Elizabeth, the Province Youth Pastoral Coordinator, the organizer of the convention, expressed gratitude to Mother Provincial, Rev. Sr. Devadoss Margaret, for the understanding support, and Rev. Fr. Arockia Selvakumar SDB, the resource person, for his availability in sharing his expertise. Followed by this was the formal vote of thanks by Auxulium Higher Secondary School, Polur for the days enriching experiences. The event oncluded on a harmonious note with the uplifting strains of Don Bosco’s song, leaving a lasting impact on all participants. youth in the pursuit of a harmonious future.
