Dear Sisters, Fathers, Friends, & Well Wishers !
The long process towards the multiplication of the Province of St. Thomas the Apostle, the Salesian Sisters of Chennai (FMA – INM) has brought forth a new Province of Tiruchirapalli FMA INT.
With great joy I announce to you the happy news that I have received from our beloved Mother General Yvonne Reungoat of the appointment of Rev. Sr. Amalanathan Mary Margaret as the First Provincial of Tiruchirapalli for the next Six Year period (2017 to 2023). We warmly Congratulate Sr. Margaret Amalanathan and wish her the choicest of God’s Blessings so that she may bear abundant fruit in the accomplishment of the responsibility assigned to her as the leader of the FMA INT Province. Dear Sr. Margaret, we assure you of our whole hearted cooperation as you are about to take up the all important mission of guiding and accompanying our New Province during these challenging times. Our sincere congratulations to you dear Sr. Margaret!
Sr. Amalanathan Margaret was born on 12th May 1961 to Mr. Amalanathan and Mrs. Leema Rose at Jebalpur. She belongs to the diocese of Salem. After completing her SSLC she joined the Aspirantate at Katpadi in the year 1981. She made her first Profession in the year 1985. She did her higher studies in Auxilium College, Katpadi in 1988 – 1991 and she did her formation course at Dharmaram College, Bangalore from 1993 – 1994. She has done 2 years’ Course in Salesian Spirituality at Casa Madre Ersilia Canta, Rome from 1996 – 1998.
In the 32 years of her Salesian religious life Sr. Margaret has carried out several services in the Province: assistant of Novices, Juniors, Animator of Puliadithammam (1999-2001), Sacred Heart Home Katpadi (2002-2005), Madurai Sirudur (2011 – 2014). She has been the Provincial Secretary from 2005 – 2011. Now at present she is the Novice Mistress and Animator at Sacred Heart Novitiate, Tiruchirapalli from 2014 – 2017.
Sr. Margaret is a good formator and has a great sense of belonging to the Institute and the Province and transmits the same to the formees entrusted to her care. She is indeed a person capable of animating and accompanying persons along the paths of Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello. May Our Blessed Mother Mary, the Help of Christians guide and accompany her in the new responsibility that the Lord and the Institute are assigning to her. Our fervent prayers and sisterly support will be always be with you dear Sr. Margaret!
