Research Cell and Auxilium Innovation and Incubation Centre in collaboration with Xavier Board of Higher Education in India organized National level Ignition Fiesta on the topic “Youth Environmental Stewardship” (YES) on 22.02.2024 & 23.02.2024.
The inaugural session on 22.02.2024 began with a prayer song invoking the Almighty’s grace and blessings followed by lighting of the kuthuvilaku by the Rev. Dr. L.Joji Reddy SJ., President, Xavier Board of Higher Education in India and the Chief Guests of the day Dr. Binila Chacko, Deputy Director, Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore and Dr. Sr. Teresa CSST, Secretary General, Xavier Board of Higher Education in India, Convener Dr. Sr. Jaya Santhi. R, Principal, Dr. Sr. Jayaceeli, Controller of Examination, Auxilium College and Co-conveners Dr. Sr. Amala Valarmathy and Sr. Juliana Agnes Victor, Vice-Principals of Shifts I & II. The coordinators of the programme are Dr. Elsamma Cherian, Coordinator, Xavier Board Academic Collaboration, Auxilium College, Dr. V. Sugantha Kumari, Dean of Research and IPR, Auxilium College, Vellore and Dr. Beulah Suresh, Convenor, AIIC, Auxilium College, Vellore, honoured the dignitaries. Dr. Elsamma Cherian, Coordinator, Xavier Board Academic Collaboration, Auxilium College, welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest of the Day-1, Dr. Binila Chacko, Deputy Director, Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore. The Principal Rev. Sr. R. Jaya Santhi delivered the Theme of the “Youth Environmental Stewardship” (YES), encouraging the students to dream, create and inspire and bring out their talents. The inaugural address was given by the Dr. Binila Chacko, Deputy Director, Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore. The Presidential address was given by Rev. Dr. L. Joji Reddy SJ, President, Xavier Board of Higher Education in India. The key note address was delivered by Dr. Sr. Teresa CSST, Secretary General, Xavier Board of Higher Education in India. The resource person Prof. Samuel Johnson K, Assistant Director, Centre for Teaching and Learning and faculty at VIT AP, School of Business, VIT AP University highlighted the importance of YOU in Youth Environmental Stewardship (YES), the present generation responsibilities and their contribution towards the environment as well as the society as a whole.
300 registered participants from different colleges and Auxilium college students were benefitted and enjoyed the session with enthusiasm. Dr. Beulah Suresh, Convenor, AIIC, Auxilium College, Vellore, proposed the vote of thanks.
The second day 23rd February 2024, session began with a prayer song invoking the Almighty’s grace and blessings. The Resource Person Dr. Geo Jos Fernandez, Dean-International Affairs, St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam, Kerala, gave insights on “Care for Creations”, for the younger generation referring to the message by Pope Francis. He emphasised on the preservation of Eco system and environmental challenges for the future generation.
Students from Christian Medical College CMC, Vellore, Loyola College, Chennai, D.K.M. College for Women, Vellore, C.Abdul Hakeem College, Melvisharam, Ranipet, Sacred Heart College, Thindivanam, Voorhees College, Vellore, MMES College, Melvisharam, Ranipet, Govt. Thirumagal Mills College, Gudiyattam, Annai Meera Engineering College, Arapakkam, Kingston Engineering College, Vellore and Auxilium College participated in the 15 competitions. Venture Vibe -Innovations in different fields in the form of working models for Science and non-working models for Arts students displayed by the students. The judges of the venture –vibe competition were Dr. N. Jabena Begum, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, D.K.M. College for Women, Vellore and Dr. C. Colin Crispin, Head & Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration, Voorhees College, Vellore. Dr. V. Rekha, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, D.K.M. College for Women, Vellore, acted as judge for the Poster Competition. Dr. J. Mohana Lakshmika, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Business Administration, Muthurangam Govt. Arts College, Vellore was the judge for Wealth from Waste competition.
Mr. R. Kanagaraj, Professor in Psychology, Academy of Prisons and Correctional Administration (APCA), Vellore and Ms. Krithiga K. ZENLP practitioner Vellore, were the judges of the Essay Competition, Pen a Poem and Pencil Sketch.
Mr. A. Naresh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of English, C. Abdul Hakeem College, Melvisharam, Ranipet acted as the judge for the Mime Competition.
Dr. N. Sathya, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, School of Social Sciences and Languages, VIT, Vellore and Mr. A. Naresh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of English, C. Abdul Hakeem College, Melvisharam, Ranipet were the judges of the Dance Competition.
Mr. M.G. Ravish, Founder and Director, Vannoviya Television Network, Vellore was the judge for the Short-film, Reel and Photography. The judges evaluated the projects, events, competitions and announced the results.

gave detailed insights of the Xavier Board by the Catholic Institutions and journey towards Youth Environmental Stewardship, YES for the younger generation. He was highlighting on the innovative ideas, talents and entrepreneurs of the future generation.
The prize winners of Venture Vibe- Innovative working model competition were awarded with a cash prize of Rs.4000/- -First Prize, Rs. 2000/- Second Prize, Third Prize-1000/- for Arts and Science separately with merit and participation certificates.
The Prize winners of various competitions were awarded with mementos and merit certificates. Participants also received the participation certificates.
