At 7.00 a.m the sisters of INM together with the sisters from the five provinces gathered in the College auditorium to take a divine touch of the Lord as the day of rejoicing gleamed in all its glory during the Morning Prayer animated by the sisters of Auxilium Community. Sr.Elizabeth Sebastian, Sr.Alexander Amali and Sr.Tharcius Sagaya Mary led the congregation in Prayer.
The entire FMA world was called upon to thank the Lord for our dear Mother Yvonne Renugoat as the sisters brought forth symbols of lamp, water, flowers and salt to represent the east where the sun rises in glorious splendour bringing hope to the young, the wintry north represented by Water to face the challenges of life’s seasons as a salesian family; the south with its spring was symbolized by flowers that renew strength and nurture the educating community; the west, the origin of the salesian charism, symbolized by salt to bring the fullness of life by the educative presence of the laity. The sisters with garlands stood facing the four directions and moved in harmony with garlands of flowers as the prayers were intoned to bless Mother. The young people gracefully did choreography for the invocation of the Holy Spirit.
The gospel reading by Sr. Soosai Leema Rose on Jesus, the Good Shepherd from St.John was apt for the gift of Mother Yvonne our Good Shepherdess. The sisters in unison sang the hymn “I will sing unto the Lord to the accompaniment of music by Sr. Francis Irudayamary.
The hub of the wheel was depicted by a young girl as she moved in circles with spokes represented by young people representing the whole educating community – FMA, SDB Salesian Cooperators, Past Pupils, Lay Collaborators, VDB and VIDES who form the Salesian Family as the logo of the feast is the wheel in movement .
As one united FMA family of the world the entire assembly invoked the Lord to fill us with the gifts of the Holy Spirit through a graceful dance. In a special way bless our dear Mother General Yvonne Reungoat who is the bond of union and leads all in faith towards the fullness of life.
The Morning Prayer concluded with a hymn invoking showers of divine blessings on our beloved Mother Yvonne. The hour of Prayer at the start of the day was truly a time of grace and benediction for the whole Institute as the sisters invoked the blessings of the Lord on Mother Yvonne singing:
May the Lord bless and keep you, May He let His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you, and give you His peace.
