On 14 th June 2024, the surprising visit of Minister. Mrs. P. Geetha Jeevan, the Social
Welfare and Women Empowerment, made Salem Marialaya Avvai Nagar to experience the
immense joy and support of the government of Tamil Nadu. Along with the Minister, P. Geetha
Jeevan, the Salem Revenue Division Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, District Child
Protection Officer and the other officials of Salem arrived.
Minister Mrs. P. Geetha Jeevan saw the Registers of arrival and settlement of the
inmates. She was impressed by the service of Marialaya to Women and appreciated Sr.
Stanislaus Mary Dora , for her initiative and the tireless sacrificing work. The Minister lighted
the kuthu Vizhakku as the sign of the presence of God. The welcome address was given by Sr.
Stanislaus Mary Dora. The Minister and other officials were adorned with shawels.
100 women were present for the Ministers Visit, including the inmates. The short annual
report was presented through power point, following which the Minister addressed the gathering.
She asked the women to care for themselves and to make the children to grow in an integral way.
The vote of thanks was given by Sr. Susainathan Ayesha Bindhu. The Minister was happy and
taken up at the service of Salesian sisters. She assured her support and wished them to continue
the fruitful Mission for the women and children at risk.
