Dear Sisters, Fathers, Friends and Well wishers!
With great joy I announce to you the happy news that I have received from our beloved Mother General Yvonne Reungoat of the appointment of Rev. Sr. Lazar Maria Nirmala as our New Provincial of FMA INM for the next six year period (2017 -2023). We warmly congratulate Sr. Lazar Nirmala and wish her the choicest of God’s Blessings so that she may bear abundant fruit in the accomplishment of the responsibility assigned to her as the leader of the INM FMA Province. Dear Sr. Nirmala, we assure you of our whole hearted cooperation as you are about to take up the all important mission of guiding and accompanying our Province during these challenging times. Our sincere congratulations to you dear Sr. Nirmala.
Sr. Lazar Maria Nirmala was born on 10th December 1966 to Mr. Lazar and Mrs. Francisca at Mosavadi, Vellore Diocese. After completing her Higher Secondary at Mary Immaculate, Tirupattur she joined the Aspirantate at Katpadi in the year 1983. She made her first profession in the year 1987. From 1989-1994 she completed her Master’s degree in Mathematics.
In the 30 years of her Salesian religious life she was an assistant for the aspirants and postulants from 2004 – 2006, She was a teacher in Auxilium Hr. Secondary School, Katpadi and Thanjavur. She was an animator in Auxilium Home Katpadi (2006 – 2008), Thanjavur (2009 – 2014) and at present in Fatima Convent, Kodambakkam Chennai (2014-2017).
Sr. Lazar Maria Nirmala has a sense of belonging to the Institute and the Province. She is a woman of faith, able to lead the Province according to the spirit of Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello. May our Blessed Mother Mary, the Help of Christians guide and accompany her in the new responsibility that the Lord and the Institute are assigning to her. Our fervent prayers and sisterly support will be always be with you dear Sr. Nirmala!
